THE BEST BIRTH STORIES…..
….. are the ones that give you confidence. The ones that show you it IS possible to have a natural birth. The ones that inspire you to trust yourself, your body and your baby. Imagine if you surrounded yourself with only positive stories of birth – how would you feel about your own ability, your own birth?
These are the stories of the Mums in my classes, my workshops and my courses who had wonderful, beautiful, confident, natural births. And while I know and totally understand that not all Mums can have births like these, I also appreciate that we are lucky enough to have the medical intervention available if we need it, when we need it.
These stories are the real, true accounts of real, every day Mamas. Some are first timers, some are experienced birthers. Some struggled with their first births, and were then delighted to experience their subsequent births differently.
Some overcame issues or problems. Some negotiated fearlessly for the birth they wanted. But ALL of them trusted their bodies, had confidence in their ability, and used the tools, techniques and knowledge they learned along the way.
My 2 favourites quotes so far:
“this was our first team event, all 3 of us, and we worked really well together”
“after all, pain is just french for bread”

I am finally sending you my birth story (hooray!). Sorry it’s a little bit overdue but I don’t think I realised just how much hard work a new born baby is! So as you know I was told I have mild gestational diabetes and as a result my consultant was reluctant for me to...read more
Dear Julie & Yoga Mamas I wanted to share our fantastic birth story with you. It all started on the way home from Yoga last Thursday night. I felt very uncomfortable on our drive home & when I got home I popped to the loo & saw a tiny show which prevailed...read more
Woke up Monday morning around 4.30am, with a bit of backache and a bit damp in the downstairs area. Went to the toilet and got back into bed none the wiser. Woke up about an hour later with more back ache, feeling the need to go to the toilet again. I got up and went to the bathroom, knowing that something didn’t feel quite right, mild aches in my back.read more
So it all began on the evening of Friday 29th Feb. My waters began to trickle at 5pm and so we made our way to the local Midwifery Unit and they confirmed this was the case and to go home and get some rest and come back when I started to contract. Nothing happened all evening and as you can imagine I didn’t get much sleep waiting for things to happen.read more
Some of the names in these stories have been changed at the request of the Mamas, to maintain confidentiality. For the same reason, some of the images used are Stock Images.
However, ALL the stories are genuine.
